Side Yard Drainage Correction
A side yard that flooded with every storm, regraded and rebuilt with a dry creek bed and buried downspout lines.
Concept project created to demonstrate scope, design thinking and deliverables. Not a photograph of a completed customer property.

The challenge
Roof water discharged directly beside the foundation and the side yard sat lower than the surrounding grade. Every rain left standing water for days, the lawn had turned to mud, and erosion had started cutting a channel toward the back corner.
Design approach
Move the water instead of fighting it. Establish positive grade away from the foundation, capture roof water underground, and give the surface flow a defined, attractive route with a dry creek bed that reads as a design feature rather than a repair.
What we built
Regraded the side yard, installed catch basins with a buried discharge line, tied all downspouts underground, built a river rock dry creek bed with boulder accents, and re-sodded the corrected grade.
